GVK crossed a significant milestone with the commissioning of its Goindwal Sahib TPP in Punjab. After the successful commissioning of Unit 1 on 1 April, 2016, Unit 2 was commissioned on 14 April, 2016.
GVK CSMIA, Mumbai handled passenger traffic of 41.6 million in 2015-16, thus entering the league of big world airports. This figure is six million more than what was estimated by MIAL for 2015-16.

GVK MIAL set a new record on 24 November, handling 969 flights movements, the highest in a 24-hour period eclipsing its previous best of 935 flights in May, 2017 and becoming the world’s busiest amongst the single-runway facility airports.

MIAL received the ‘Letter of Award’ (LOA) for the Navi Mumbai International Airport on 25 October, 2017 from CIDCO, the nodal agency of the Government of Maharashtra.
Two postage stamps of Rs 5 and Rs 15 denomination respectively, were issued by the Department of Post on the completion of 75 years of operations of the GVK Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at an event in Mumbai on 15 October, 2017. This is the first time in the history of Indian Aviation that a stamp on an Airport was issued by the Department of Post.
