We are here: GVK EMRI
At GVK, a lot of emphasis is laid on social development and sustainability. Various projects at
GVK have been undertaken to uplift the living conditions and raise the general standard of living
of the deprived sections of our society.
GVK carries out its social initiatives through GVK Foundation. This is the social activity wing of the GVK and runs many development programs on a national level like providing housing for under privileged people, education, health and hygiene, community-based programs, empowerment and entrepreneurship development, arts, music, sports, emergency response services and a number of other socio-economic initiatives.
The GVK EMRI (Emergency Management and Research Institute) is one of the most important social initiatives of GVK. It is a non-profit organization based on Public Private Partnership model. It attends to every emergency situation in the country; be it a medical crisis, a law and order situation or a fire disaster. It provides services at par with global standards and follows modern principles of management and leadership to serve the nation.
This service is spread across 14 States viz. Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Rajasthan and 2 Union Territories viz. Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. With the help of this widespread initiative and equipped with around 6000 ambulances, over 18 million cases have been attended to and over 0.72 million lives saved.
A three digit toll free emergency response number – 108 is accessible from all fixed lines and mobile phones across the locations the service is available in.
GVK EMRI has collaborated with the AP Police Department for “Project Dial-100” to integrate best practices in emergency response
management and thus ensure efficient service delivery to the citizens across the state. An integrated Dial-100 centre will be set-up that
would cohesively coordinate all emergency services like medical, fire and other disaster related response services. The combined services
under one roof will widen the scope of emergency situations being handled across the state, thus providing the citizens access to immediate help.
At EMRI the employees are described as Energetic, Modest, Reliable and Inquisitive with Commitment, Ability, Resourcefulness and Empathy. Around 28000 employees working with EMRI are positioned as communication officers, dispatch officers, emergency medical technicians, pilots and support staff.
GVK EMRI is housed in a 39 acre campus at Hyderabad with modern facilities for Emergency management, Research and Training. State of the art technology is deployed at all the Emergency Response Centers which helps provide world class services to users.
To strengthen its competencies and skills and to share the best international practices, GVK has partnered with global organizations like Stanford, CMU, 9-1-1, STC, AAPI, AAEMI, Geomed etc.
