GVK Jaipur Expressway Private Limited (GJEPL) is operating the 542.4 lane kms
six-lane Jaipur Kishangarh road project in the state of Rajasthan. This is India's
first six-lane BOT (Build Operate Transfer) road project and is a part of the Golden
Quadrilateral under the flagship National Highways Development Project (NHDP) of the
Government of India.
It involved conversion of existing two lanes to six lanes from the kms 273/500 to kms
364/886 stretch of the Jaipur-Kishangarh section of National Highway-8. NH-8 connects
Mumbai to Delhi and serves as the major artery connecting the ports in Maharashtra/
Gujarat to the landlocked northern hinterland.
As part of the Concession Agreement, GVK has a concession period of 20
years including construction period of 2.5 years. The construction work was
completed nearly six months ahead of schedule and it has been in operation
since April 2005.
