We are here:
Ports play an integral role in the overall economic development of the country.
About 95 per cent by volume and 77 per cent by value of country’s international
trade is carried through maritime transport. Strategically located on world's major
shipping routes, the Indian coastline aids trade and ensures inland security stretching
over 7517 km with 13 major and 176 non-major ports.
GVK has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Gujarat to develop
a Greenfield port in Okhamadi.
With its cross-functional expertise in large-scale infrastructure development, it would
definitely make use of the business opportunities which the privatization of ports would offer.
