GVK has, in the spirit of a pioneer, addressed opportunities in the infrastructure sector in India, leveraging its accumulated expertise and consolidated competencies in civil engineering, project management, technology integration and trans–national partnerships for optimization.

The Jaipur–Kishangarh BOT project, a segment of the Golden Quadrilateral National Highways Development Project of the Government of India, is yet another instance where GVK has won a concession in a highly competitive context.

The Project, with a value of Rs. 7,060 Million (157 Million USD) including a grant of the Rs. 2,110 Million (47 Million USD) from the National Highways Authority of India, involved conversion of existing two lanes to six lanes from the KM 273/500 to KM 364/886 stretch of the Jaipur–Kishangarh section of National Highway 8 in Rajasthan State, India. As part of the agreement, GVK has a concession period of 20 years, including construction period, for operating and charging tolls. GVK will operate the Highway and have the technology for tolling.

With the inauguration of the Project in May 2005 by the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh, GVK set another record in the Infrastructure Sector by completing the Project six months ahead of its scheduled completion of thirty months.

GVK is also developing the Deoli – Kota Road BOT Project. The project consists of 4 laning the current 2 lane road stretch of 83km. The project is estimated at Rs 8000 Million (174 Million USD) and is on the NH 12 (Jaipur to Jabalpur) in the state of Rajasthan. The project is slated for completion in 30 months.

In addition to Roads, GVK is also expanding into other areas of transportation such as Airports, Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS), Ports etc.
