A 330 MW hydro project is being developed on the river Alaknanda in Tehri/ Pauri Garhwal District of Uttarakhand. The construction of this project is nearing completion. All the civil works are 99% complete. It has a 90 m high (from deepest foundation level) dam. A power purchase agreement has been signed with the state of Uttar Pradesh and 12% output will be given free to the state of Uttarakhand. The project is expected to commission its first unit by second quarter of this year.

The state-of-the-art 850 MW power project is located on NH-24 and its major structures are located on River Chenabin in Kishtwar District. The plant is likely to commence operations in the year 2017. It will provide 16% of its output free of cost to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. This is the first project in the country taken by GVK on Tariff Based Bidding Process.
Besides the Forest Clearance from the Government of J & K, this project has obtained the Environment clearance from Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF) and Techno Economic Clearance (TEC) from CEA, Government of India. This is a major step forward to begin the execution of this mega power project in the state of J&K.

This 346 MW power project is being developed in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. This will be a merchant power plant for GVK. The Government of Uttarakhand has granted its approval for the preparation of a Detailed Project Report for a single integrated project, combining both the projects (146 MW + 200 MW). 12% output from this project will be given free of cost to the state of Uttarakhand.
