Rail Rail
The proposed multi-user rail infrastructure project includes 500 km of standard gauge track which is to be built by GVK. This line will connect Alpha Coal and Kevin’s Corner mines to the nearest coal port – the Port of Abbot Point in North Queensland.

This project will include both mine and port rail loading loops, passing loops, railway rolling stock, signaling and communications, access roads and other crossings along with other support facilities such as workshops, stores, administration buildings and accommodation.

Port
GVK has been awarded the Preferred Developer status for the Abbot Point Port’s Terminal 3 (T3). As part of this expansion, a coal handling and stockpiling facility with a capacity of 60 million tonne per annum will be created. GVK has its own operating facilities, including stacker reclaimers and materials handling equipment, offshore structures and support facilities all within a larger privately-owned and operated multi-user terminal.

GVK has received all relevant approvals pertaining to the mine, rail and port project from the Federal and State Govt and is now in the final stages of project development.
